An Eagle Transforming to Human bracelet in progress. On a piece like this I take my time and enjoy the process, like savoring a glass of fine wine.

I came across this wonderful photograph of my father, David Neel, and my grandma Ellen Neel from the 1950’s. Grandma started teaching my father to carve when he was a very young.

I am working on a new book, Kwakiutl Ancient Stories (working title). It has been in progress for some time, & I will complete the manuscript by the end of the year, and published in 2026.  Countless hours go into writing a book, so I will very focused for the next while.
