Recently, I came across this wonderful photograph of my father, Dave Senior, from the 1950’s. Taught at an early age by his mother, Ellen Neel, he was a skilled carver in his teens.

In ancient times Mink is a trickster character, and his father is the Sun. Once, a young woman was weaving cedar bark mats, and the Sun shone on her and made her pregnant. Nine months later Mink was born.
